Must-watch: 4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days

I had been dying to see this film since it won raves in its release in 2007, not least of which is winning the Palme D'or in the Cannes Film Festival, among other accolades.

I have downloaded the film many months ago but had been putting it aside since forever.

Two weeks ago I watched its first half but had to press stop when I felt that something horrifyingly terrible was going to happen to the characters of the movie. I only had the courage to watch the rest of the film tonight and the same feeling of foreboding tragedy hounded me all throughout.

And it's not even supposedly a suspense nor a horror film!

4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days is a Romanian film written and directed by Cristian Mingiu.

Anamaria Marinca carried the weight of the film through her superb acting as a woman thrown into a difficult choice her best friend makes.

This film is not to be missed.

Oh yeah, I love this film. Saw it on Sundance a year ago or so. Like you, the buzz made me watch this film. It didn't disappoint. Subtle acting, no hysterics, but nonetheless very moving and disturbing.
