Can't Have It All

Awww... one of the most fascinating singer-songwriters just released a new music video. Remember me writing about the uber fabulous - and my long-time crush - Jay Brannan here and here?

This new video is very, very melancholic but the lyrics makes it totally cute.

Well it helps as well that Jay is the cutest thing around, right?

cant have it all
music and lyrics by jay brannan

applying moisturizer in the microwave window
for the tenth time, he shouldve called me an hour ago
would he be here with flowers if i lived in arizona?

they say theres no love left in the big cities, its kinda true
i guess youll find me coming soon to a small town near you
ill sell my guitar so i can by myself a tractor

fuck this, this cant be my life
i moisturized ten times tonight
why cant i sit down and write,
bring this question to light?

chorus

do you want a lover, or do you want a life?
one hand or the other, the butter or the bread knife?
do you choose winter, spring, summer, or fall?
its driving me crazy that i cant have it all

if these walls could talk, theyd probably cry out for mercy
til im outlined in chalk, ill be romantically thirsty
so i drink and drink from the proverbial time sink

fuck this, this cant be my life
tears flowing in full force tonight
why cant i sit down and write,
bring this question to light?

chorus

do we hold the future, or does it come in peace?
and if its in my hands, are you sure it should be in brittle hands like these?
life, love, and the pursuit of all the things they promised me
can i have all of the above? are the best things in life truly free?

chorus

Ulirang Asawang Bakla

Remember Jay Branan? He appeared on the (in)famous movie, Shortbus (2006). Since watching him singing the Star Spangled Banner in such an, ehem, uncompromising position, I fell in love with him (see my previous post here). As mentioned in his blog, he is soon to release an album (or has he?). I can't wait.

Below is a track from that album. The song is called Housewife and I love how whimsical and cute it is. Go check out the lyrics coz it is totally GAY. But no, for the love of God, I don't fancy being a housewife at all. Washing the dishes? Doing the laundry? Hell no; that's totally unromantic. What would happen to my nails? Ugh.

Housewife
by Jay Brannan

Two bodies pressed together
Two boys are falling hard
The smell of sweat and leather
A kinky greeting card

Crazy about each other
We both have fucked up pasts
But when we are together
We have a fucking blast

I wanna be a housewife
What's so wrong with that?
I wanna be a housewife, yeah
And that's just where I'm at

I'm making guacamole
He's working on the car
When he grills turkey burgers
He knows I like them charred

I like to wash the dishes
I like to scrub the floors
Don't mind doing his laundry
What are boyfriends for?

I wanna be a housewife
What's so wrong with that?
I wanna be a housewife, yeah
And that's just where I'm at

I wanna have his baby
I want to wear his ring
He drives me fuckin' crazy
I am his everything

I wanna be a housewife
What's so wrong with that?
I wanna be a housewife, yeah
And that's just where I'm at

I wanna be a housewife
What's so wrong with that?
Can't wait 'til he's in my life, yeah
Cause we haven't met
We haven't met yet
We haven't met yet
We haven't met yet
Met yet

YOUTUBE IS BACK!!!

OH! MY! GOD! Youtube is back in Thailand! It was banned here for so many months because of some video that did not please ANYBODY here... (and I'm not supposed to talk about it AT ALL).

Anyway, to welcome back Youtube to the Land of the Free, I'm posting a video by hottie Jay Brannan, who appeared in the uber risky movie, Shortbus. He has just an amazing, amazing voice. I want him to be the father of my kids actually and we can sing the soundtrack of The Sound of Music with our seven children for infinity.
